RIPARIAN FOREST
Communion: A Liturgy
Ulysses Atwhen & Friends
Saturday, May 7, 2022
Riparian opens with a choral section composed by Tony Billoni, inspired by Tony Conrad’s “Four Violins," and orchestrated by artist and educator Kilissa Cissoko that features nearly 3 dozen local voices. Central to the performance is the ENR Aeoline pipe organ’s drone, upon which electronic, percussive, string, and wind elements build and combine. The instrumental section is conducted by Tristan Tims and features an improvisational group of local musicians. Ulysses Atwhen’s collective experience invites a new and continuing space for music and sound.
